Hornchurch made it into the Essex Association Final!
On the 1st June a team of Hornchurch Bellringers stepped up to compete in the Annual District Striking competition, which this year was at Leytonstone.
After a bright and early start, we were drawn to go 3rd, following West Ham and scratch team (made up of a number of ringers from different towers who could not make up a full team from their own tower).
So after a nervous wait, and copious consumption of tea and biscuits, it was our turn to compete. We rang Plain Bob Doubles, admirably conducted by Leonie Hughes on the 4th bell.
We were all pretty pleased with the result but unforunately when the results came we ended up coming 3rd, with a big congratulations to West Ham retaining the trophy for another year. However, due to so few teams entering we still made it into the Essex final which is to be held at Ockendon in July.
Best get practising then!
